The Barn is where it all started. In 2020, between successive lockdowns we launched a lifestyle venue which celebrates Slow Food, Community and Wellness. We love discovering emerging brands and supporting independent retail, and wanted to combine this with our love of eating out!

We believe to eat well you need to care about where your food comes from. Eating more seasonally and locally has so many health and societal benefits. We also believe that food waste is a huge problem for us all and which is crazy given the wealth in the world today.

The Barn is a restaurant dedicated to this vision. We’re “the Narnia of Chichester” located in the city centre with a secret courtyard full of individual chalets for a totally unique dining experience. We also have a gorgeous retail space with Espresso Bar and Bakery Counter, filled daily with fresh bread and pastries.

The Barn is also the headquarters of Slow Food Sussex, for which our founder, Emma is Chairwoman.
